Mind: Meet Body

Relational Somatics for Individuals and Groups

Cultivate your most important relationship

Hi, I’m Nina.

I'm a somatic healing practitioner and integrative counselor, NeuroAffective Touch practitioner, group facilitator, and author.

I combine extensive training in counseling, depth psychology, somatic therapy, spiritual leadership, and energy medicine to help people with early relational wounds develop healthy relationships and full, embodied lives.

In our work together, we'll look at root causes, not just symptoms. We listen to your body, your heart, and your dreams. We read the old stories to find deeper truths and new beginnings.

  • Academic background: I received an MA in Counseling Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute, focusing on Marriage and Family Therapy from a Jungian and depth psychology perspective, and an MA in Comparative Literature from UC Berkeley. I completed my counseling internship at a Waldorf school, where I later worked as a school counselor.

Somatics and psychotherapy: I’m a certified NeuroAffective Touch® practitioner, a neurobiologically informed modality that bridges psychotherapy and touch for body-mind integration. I also have certificates in Integrative Somatic Trauma Therapy, Somatic Attachment Therapy, and Somatic Stress Release (Level 1). I studied Emotionally Focused Therapy at the externship level, and my work and writing continue to be deeply influenced by Sue Johnson, founder of EFT. I’ve also studied Saphire® Imagery with Catherine Shainberg at the School of Images, and I integrate imagery as an integral part of my work.

Energy medicine and spirituality: I’m a certified Havening Techniques® practitioner and a Reiki Master–level practitioner in the Usui lineage. I also completed a three-year training in spiritual leadership through the Kohenet Institute. I also bring seventeen years of personal experience in Twelve-Step recovery and in meditation across a wide range of spiritual traditions.

Safe and Sound Protocol: I’m a certified provider of the Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) developed by Dr. Stephen Porges to restore nervous system regulation and social engagement through the use of music, and I trained with Ana du Valle in her SEGAN Mosaic of Healing, which combines the SSP with art, Somatic Experiencing, and sensory integration.

Group facilitation: I’m a group clinician at Berkshire Transition Network, where I lead groups for men in early recovery. I also created the Somatics of Recovery course, which I offer online.
